Spam-resistant Website Inquiries Processing and Storage

Publicly available email addresses (such as those shown on a Website) lead to Spam. Traditional Feedback pages are also a target for Spammers seeking email addresses. In these instances, the email addresses are literally “harvested” from the Website, ultimately to send you email you don't want.

Simple to Use Alternative

Our Inquiries Processing & Management (IPM) is Webserver based. It requires NO special software and publishes absolutely no email addresses in the HTML. The database file can be accessed from any Web browser with an Internet connection.

Your Choice of Data Posting Formats

• A Delimited Text File that appends each new submittal as a new line. The text file can be opened as a spreadsheet to further process the inquiries.
• A Separate HTML Web Page for each submittal. Each page also contains a delimited text data dump for additional processing if desired.
• An SQL Database on the Webserver (Full Service Webs Clients only)

The IPM is available to all RBR Associates’ Full Service & Budget Web Clients.

How the IPM Works

1. Client must be an RBR Associates’ Web Client
2. IPM forms are formatted to match the client's Website design
3. Multiple forms for different categories may be created
4. RBR Associates installs the IPM form on the Webserver
5. Administration and maintenance are provided by RBR Associates
6. When there are multiple forms, the IPM directs the visitor to most applicable form
7. The Website visitor completes, then submits a form
8. Inquiries are processed, then posted to one of three types of files
9. The IPM notifies recipient(s) you designate
10. Those designated, login to view, copy or print the data
11. Users cannot delete or alter the master IPM database

reCaptcha™ Available for Added Security

A Captcha is a program that can tell whether the user attempting to submit data is a human or a computer. Captchas use images and/or distorted text, which the “bot” (a automated program) cannot read as well as a human. Captchas are used to prevent "bots” from generating Spam, submitting erroneous data, dictionary attacks, or preventing the indexing of a page by a Search Engine.

reCaptcha™ is a system developed at Carnegie Mellon University which utilizes Captcha. Not only does their implementation protect Websites, it also assists in the process of digitizing the text of books, thus increasing the digital archive of human knowledge.

Currently, RBR Associates is implementing reCaptcha for forms written in PHP. The reCaptcha system is also available for other programming environments and numerous Web-based applications.
