Demopoulos & Associates

RBR Associates is proud to introduce Demopoulos & Associates, its newest Web Client. Demopoulos & Associates are Ohio based, licensed private investigators and certified fraud examiners.

About the Project

An initial meeting identified the project's goals and objectives, on which the proposal and estimate were based. Following acceptance, RBR Associates provided the client a detailed development strategy. Demopoulos and Associates responded in kind, articulating extensive knowledge of the markets they serve.

The client's thorough feedback provided RBR Associates excellent copy source and clear visual direction. RBR Associates' ability to effectively interpret their input, resulted in a Website both companies can be proud of. The logo, not part of the project's budget was an outgrowth of the project's design process. RBR Associates included it at no additional charge.

Website Validation, a Realistic, Achievable Goal

For 2008, RBR Associates is committed to producing only “Valid” Websites and to upgrade existing Web Client Websites to validate as well. True validation is a process of checking Web documents (such as HTML) against the formal standard published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Validation can also be applied to style sheets. This page demonstrates both:

1. Valid XHTML
2. Valid CSS (Cascading Style Sheet)

Making it Part of the Process

As the year progresses, new projects are automatically subjected to validation as part of the normal development process. The Demopoulos & Associates assignment (above) is a recent example. The W3C provides free validation tools for both documents and style sheets. Existing client Websites will be upgraded during normal and ongoing revision cycles at no charge to the client.

Overcoming Challenges

Some believe (as we used to) that validation stands in the way of solid design. As more and more pages we produce validate, we believe that is not the case at all, but rather an excuse for otherwise sloppy coding.

Our biggest challenges most often arise when combining a static page with dynamic content such as forms and form data. These instances often require a major re-write of the script. We are making progress towards validation in this area as well.
